Minutes of 1st YAFA EVIS Meeting
Minutes of 1st Meeting of YAFA Eastern Visayas
Meeting started 5:30PM 30 minutes behind call time.
Present are:
Leo Christian Lauzon, RD
Arvin Cabillan, SC Chair
Lilian Salazar, Councilor
Jess Daintey Goda, Councilor
Kristine Joy Llavore, Councilor
Anthony Evan Geonzon, President (Maanyag)
Jay Mar Albaos, An Balangaw
Dominique Ken Aguilar, UP Vista
Karen Terado, VP for Internal Relations (TSJJC)
Dolores, UPM SHS SSG
Phebe, UPM SHS SSG
Jet, UP Vista (Observer)
Late but present...

Not going to attend:
1. Liceo del Verbo Divino - exams tomorrow
2. Others did not send their reasons as to why they are be able to attend the meeting..
Agenda:
1. Officers. Election of Officers was canceled due to lack of quorum
2. Membership.
a. We still accept members for YAFA EVIS especially the youth and those who are in the medical field.
b. Youth advocates who signed up during the assembly are automatically members of YAFA EVIS.
c. There would be an Annual Membership Fee of P100.00 that will serve as the standing funds of YAFA EVIS.
d. There would be a monthly due of P5.00 that will serve as the supplemental fund of YAFA EVIS.
e. There would be a commitment test.
f. For those who will just enter the organization, there would be a membership process.
g. Members of YAFA EVIS will also undergo trainings and seminars for them to be fully equipped as HIV and AIDS advocates..
Dolores of UPM SHS raised the concern if she can still join YAFA EVIS with only 7 months to stay here in Palo for studies. We said yes and she can even establish YAFA Western Visayas when goes back to her homwtown in Capiz.
3. Programs and Activities
a. We will conducting Campus Hopping to market YAFA EVIS and to spread the word about HIV and AIDS.
Schools that we are going to tap as of the last meeting:
1. UPM SHS (U.P. Palo) c/o Dolores and Phebe. No definite date yet.
2. EVSU c/o YKONEK. September 19, 2009.
b. We also accepted the request of Hon. Nina Arlyn L. Briones, the S.K. Federation President of Guiuan, Eastern Samar to conduct the same Youth Assembly on HIV and AIDS in Guiuan. No definite date yet.
c. We also initially planned for the programs and activites that we are going to have here Eastern Visayas for the World AIDS Day. We decided to have it a week long celebration.
Meeting adjourned around 7 o'clock in the evening and was successful.
