YAFA Family

Youth AIDS Filipinas Alliance (YAFA) is a network of Filipino youth working on HIV and AIDS in the Philippines and worldwide. We, YAFA members, are committed to STOP AIDS - to end the sufferings and inequities brought by HIV and AIDS stigma and discrimination. We value and support the meaningful participation of young Filipinos, including the greater involvement of young persons living with HIV, in all levels of HIV and AIDS interventions (prevention, care, treatment and support) in the Philippines and worldwide.

YAFA is a non-stock, non-profit youth organization guided by the principle of greater and meaningful involvement of people living with HIV (GIPA/MIPA principle) set by the Paris Declaration in 1994. YAFA is now recently joined by both HIV+ and HIV- volunteers. We believe that we can be successful in combating HIV in our country if both HIV+ and HIV- will collaborate to help eliminate stigma and discrimination towards people living with HIV and to give better understanding of the realities of HIV and AIDS as it affects young people.
