March 8, 2010 is YAFA's 2nd Anniversary
YAFA was established in March 8, 2008 by a group of young positives in Metro Manila. Few months after, it was opened to all young Filipinos regardless of HIV status to bridge the gap between young positives and young negatives; thus, achieving its goal of reducing if not eliminating HIV-related stigma and discrimination in the Philippines. YAFA believes that in order to eliminate stigma and discrimination, there must be an increase awareness about HIV (eliminating myths and misconceptions), mutual respect and equal protection of human rights, and understanding on the realities of young people, particularly those who are living with HIV.
March is FIRE PREVENTION Month in the Philippines
While everyone maybe enjoying the scourging heat of the sun, don't forget to switch off unnecessary electronics. Let's help save our planet from over consumption of energy and at the same time, PREVENT any FIRE hazards. Every small things matters.
March is GRADUATION MONTH in the Philippines
Some of our friends and love ones may be graduating from school this March. Don't forget to greet them on their achievements. It takes a lot of courage and determination to overcome the challenges of being a student. For those who will be finishing school, HAPPY GRADUATION!
And let us all REMEMBER that HIV cases are increasing in our country and more young Filipinos are getting infected with HIV. There are SMALL THINGS that we can do. Let's work together towards a HIV-STIGMA FREE PHILIPPINES!
