Registration at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC): Another Milestone for YAFA

Youth AIDS Filipinas Alliance is glad to inform everyone of its successful registration at the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). YAFA formally received its certification from SEC on August 18th, 2009.

"I would like to thank the rest of YAFA's Board Members for their cooperation to make the SEC Registration a reality," said Mr. Igor Mocorro, one of the founders of YAFA. According to him, YAFA is looking forward for more programs and projects on HIV and AIDS and young people through strengthened networks and partnerships with other agencies or organizations, especially those that are run by young people. He added, "YAFA started from nothing yet it was able to start some projects and with the SEC Registration, we hope that it will bring more for the benefit of the Filipino youths."

YAFA recently conducted a 2-series of Youth Assemblies on HIV and AIDS in Tacloban City, Leyte and Cebu City, Cebu on August 16th and 18th. In these events, YAFA Eastern Visayas Chapter and YAFA Central Visayas Chapter were also launched through the leaderships of Leo V. Lauzon of the University of the Philippines Tacloban and Prof. ALvin Dakis of Cebu Normal University, Regional Directors for Eastern Visayas and Central Visayas respectively.
